X Factor star Lauren Platt reveals she's ditched singing for presenting after falling ill on tour

The 17-year-old revealed on Good Morning Britain that the BBC has asked her to front a new talent show in the new year 

 

However, it seems the 17-year-old may have already given up on singing.
During an appearance on Good Morning Britain earlier today, the star revealed that she now has her sights set on presenting.

In fact, she's already been offered the chance to present her own talent show next year by the BBC called Got What It Takes.
Explaining the reasoning behind her sudden career change, Lauren revealed it all started when she fell ill last year.
"I had to take a little bit of a backseat from singing because I got really really ill just before and just after The X Factor tour. Well, actually, I got ill while I was on the show really but it wasn't picked up on.
"You can still hear the croakiness in my voice now - especially in the mornings.

Lauren came fourth on the X Factor last year

"So yeah, I did take a bit of a backseat. I panicked at the time but do you know what? I think it was a blessing in disguise. I still love singing but I've found so many different avenues that I love doing instead, like presenting."
The setback inspired Lauren to launch her own YouTube channel which was an instant hit with fans.
It also impressed industry insiders as the Essex teen admitted this is what persuaded the BBC to hire her for her first presenting job on TV.
