For serially raping his own blood daughter aged six and nine, a 37-year old South African man will spend the rest of his life in prison after the Bronkhorstspruit Magistrate Court handed him the sentence, the Gauteng police said in a statement.
The man whose name was not given so as to protect his daughters, was arrested in 2013 after the girls' mother reported the case.
The
police report that the girls were so traumatised that they were too
frightened to say anything, even when their mother realised that they
had been abused by their biological father.
“The
mother of the victims realised that her children were being abused by
their father and she reported the matter to the police in 2013.
The Ekangala Family Violence and Child Protection Unit then took over the investigation that led to the arrest of the accused.
The
hefty sentence handed down to the accused is welcomed and sends out a
clear message to criminals that they will be brought to justice‚” the police statement said.
