The thugs broke into the Church of our Lady of Carmen in the Spanish town of Rincon de la Victoria, Andalucia Monday, where they also destroyed statues of Jesus and the Virgin Mary.
An investigation has been launched by Spain's Civil Guard into allegations of vandalism, after the shocking scene was discovered by priest Agustin Carrasco.
Local Christian leaders from the Diocese of Malaga said the attack did not represent the actions of all Muslims.
